I don’t think it’s inconsistent that I’d like a way to auto-mute people posting pictures that I am not interested in seeing though… leaving SW to the side for a moment, some people post some actually horrific pictures and we don’t want a place where everyone to has to see it and then decide to mute them.
Of course, the individual should always be able to make their own exceptions to whatever the recommended list is.
Censorship has never succeeded in keeping the bigots from being shitty. It does always succeed in giving prudes a new way to bully based on their alleged moral superiority.
0 tools for bullying by censoring is why #nostr is the nicest place around despite no censors to keep us in line.
