27 years ago today, an era came to an end
The Ramones never let up and gave their best every time they took the stage for over 20 years. It all ended on August 6, 1996 at the Palace in Hollywood, after 2,263 shows the Boyz had their last performance.

I only saw a few punk shows live ever: In the earlyish 80s I would go over to San Francisco from where I lived in Oakland and try to hit both more mainstream music at the Stone on Broadway and then more punk oriented music at the Mabuhay Gardens across the street on the same night, if I could. I only remember one band name of all I ever saw. I had to take public transit home, and I would crawl into to bed around 4:00 a.m., exhausted but happy.

Managed to catch them live. Total pros on stage. I guess that happens when you've played more than a thousand times.
