Excited to have set-up a "working ranch" visit with my family to a beef producer about 2 hours from our home. We'll be visiting for a few hours and buying beef from them directly, as well.

Consensus shows the "town" has a population of 10. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ”ฅ

"Shake a ranchers' hand."

It's past time to get familiar with where your food comes from.

This is the way to go. ๐Ÿ†

Cut the middlemen.

People in Utah (and expanding) are creating an app for connecting people directly to ranchers and farmers.

It's called the "Crofter" app and can be found at this website.

I used the Beef Initiative site and have connected with a ranch in Wyoming. I also used it to find Canyon Meadows Ranches, and we paid an impromptu visit to one in Morgan.

Thanks for that info, though, I'll check it out.

Did you use the beef initiative website to find them?

yessir

I found a few on that website Iโ€™m planning on reaching out to. The first one hasnโ€™t responded but Iโ€™ll try the next

I used the Beef Initiative website, then found them on Google, went to their site and contacted by email. They replied in 5 minutes with a phone number contact as well.

I know you can have the meat shipped but I prefer buying in person like you did even if itโ€™s a 2 or 3 hour drive

Another local producer I found thru the Beef Initiative does local delivery 1 day a week at a nearby gas station. It doesn't line up well with my schedule, unfortunately, so we don't do it often. Was certainly a very cool experience, though.

Nice, Iโ€™m hoping I can connect with one or two. Stew season is here ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ
