Filters have worked for years until a bunch of con artists, pardon maintainers, decided to “fix” a vulnerability that allowed data to bypass them, by changing the documentation. In other words they swept the bug under the rug. If Knots is a bad fork, so it’s Core since they’re 99% identical. Actually Knots has patched a lot of bugs that are present in Core to this day. I’m in for client diversity, so I’ll cheer on for a good alternative to both Core and Knots. So far I’ve not seen one.
