This is interesting. I’d love to see this go to trial, but probably won’t because in the US the pharmaceutical companies were all working on government contracts. If it does in other countries, everything will be sealed.
Bayer (through its subsidiary Monsanto) sues major COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers:
- Pfizer
- BioNTech
- Moderna
- Johnson & Johnson
Bayer alleges that these companies infringed on a patent (U.S. Patent No. 7,741,118, issued in 2010) stemming from technology developed by Monsanto scientists in the 1980s.
This technology was originally designed to stabilize messenger RNA (mRNA) in genetically modified crops to make them more pest-resistant by improving mRNA stability and protein expression.
They want some of those profits they made off of killing and harming millions.
