Assuming it’s more a lack of info than an intentional lie (but I’m an optimist about people).

I stopped using Twitter last March. So when blue check verification came to be, I assumed “requires credit card and ID” or some variation thereof, and had already detoxed.

But many of us “X-emigrants” probably haven’t actually tried or tested it out.

For me, I’ve made a full transition to nostr because the vibes on Twitter largely suck (as they do on any large scale social media platform), whereas here I’m actually connecting with people in meaningful ways.
