I'm in my 40s. Old Millennial.

In my opinion, it's because we evolved for one environment, characterized by limited information. But we have moved into a new environment characterized by virtually unlimited information.

We aren't built to handle this environment, and it is showing. I think previous generations' proclivities impacts the next generation but what we are seeing goes beyond that.

Right now from birth to adulthood children are exposed to several orders greater magnitude of data than my peers and I were. Social interactions are no longer limited by physicality and are recorded forever. Your perception of reality is now filtered through a series of screens.

The money being broken is a good part of it, but I don't think it's the whole story.
