Venerable Onufrie, born a humble peasant, felt a divine call early in life and sought solitude in the dense forests near Vorona Monastery. Enduring harsh winters and meager sustenance, he dedicated himself to unceasing prayer and fasting. His sanctity attracted followers, and he reluctantly became their spiritual guide, teaching them love, humility, and repentance. One day, during a severe drought, the monks pleaded with him for help. Onufrie, with unwavering faith, struck a rock with his staff, and a spring of fresh water miraculously gushed forth, quenching their thirst and nourishing their souls.

O Holy Onufrie, intercede for us that we may be granted strength in times of trial and faith to see God’s miracles in our lives.
