So what is Socialism to you
Discussion
Good question... and I also invite you to respond by answering the same question: what is socialism to you?
to me, socialism is a political & economic ideology that relies on a core principle that property and production should be owned by everyone, and managed by the government...
socialism aims to architect equality of outcomes rather that equality of opportunity, and enforces it with a top-down redistribution of wealth, resources, and outcomes...
and it's a moral framework, by the way, with absolutely no proof of concept in the real world yet in history, but please correct me if you are aware of something...
rather than raising everyone up to the high bar, socialism brings everyone down to the lowest bar to ensure quality of outcomes, regardless of a person's merit or moral input.
thanks for asking... your turn! :-)
Nice, I tend to agree on all your points. Many young people today spout Marx and shame capitalism for the issues in society. I am shocked on the amount of support Marx and his ideas have on college campuses, regardless.. free markets are the only economic system natural to humans.
I love Naval’s take and it’s quite similar to yours.
