Can anyone recommend a pin code exterior door lock that isn't junk?
Kwikset seem to have a very short lifespan with stupid failure modes like "impossible to open this door from the outside if the battery dies"
Schlage don't seem to come with any security pins so that is a no go.

The regular keyhole doesn't work on kwikset if the battery is dead?

Their site indicates that most of their locks work just fine with a regular key. I used to have a quikset and the key worked fine
It does not. Or the lock is also broken in some other way after less than 2 years. Both unacceptable.
