In the US there is multiday power outages from natural disasters. I once went a week without power from a Derecho. Luckily i had cash that i could use for restaurants and buying fuel. Since then Ive learned how to do pressure canning to avoid mass food loss of frozen and refrigerated meats. I strongly encourage people to think about plan B and C
