How do you get enough people to stop "voluntarily" funding the beast?
You can call it "voluntary compliance" but it is backed by coercion, fines and imprisonment...

Why have I never paid taxes then?

How do you do it? Do you just not file taxes, and does the government just not harass you to get them?
Exactly! Why would you volunteer?
I am coerced into paying taxes. My employer has told the govt they paid me, and then the govt requires me to file forms detailing how much I've made, and to give them some of my income. I'm not exactly volunteering. I don't freely make a choice to pay.
Because you agreed to sign the contract. I do not.😉
