On the one hand I've seen some liberals/left people say what Trump is doing with ICE is unremarkable, that Biden was doing the same numbers deporting illegal immigrants. On the other hand some liberals/left are up in arms about it and likening it to the Gestapo.

I think numbers are one part of the truth.
At least one other truth is based on what characteristics people get deported.
And how many people are let in.
I imagine books get cooked by both parties and all agencies too. Which could mean anything.
You are also seeing people (pro and anti trump) remark on noticeable differences (quieter Walmart's in certain areas, factories potentially employing illegals with empty car parks etc). Which is all of course anecdotal and on twitter lol.

So how are people seeing a noticeable difference and others complaining? Biden in however many years making an average of 300ish arrests Vs a few days of Trump in power.
You really shouldn't be able to see any difference at such an early stage if the numbers are correct, right? I have no idea lol
I would also argue that any analysis needs to be done over a longer period of time. In this short time there is no possibility to say if this was an efficiency increase in border police action or just a Hollywood show, where they have raided people, that do an honorable job all day.
