Just as a pocket calculator does not invent math - it spits out results using the framework programmed into it by its creator - "AI" does not invent anything. It simply spits out a flowery string of words that reflect the principles, beliefs and aims of its creator. Assuming or bestowing any credulity to the results being provided to you is simply acceding to the prinicples, beliefs and aims of the creator of the "AI".

Just as with the invented title of "Ph.D." and with the omnipresence of the so-called "mainstream media", powerful people with the intent of lending trust and credulity to their own priniciples, beliefs and aims have presented to us an august-sounding propaganda device called "artificial intelligence". This title is meant to encourage the idea that this "intelligence" is somehow removed from any human input, as if its output is as infallible as the result given to one by a pocket calculator.

Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. "AI" is as fallible as those who program it - Toto may easily remove the curtain and reveal the fops actauilly responsible for the dissemination of these "results".

In the words of Public Enemy: Don't believe the hype.

While I do agree with your statements, there are AI who write and rewrite its own code. There is also AI that are allowed to create their own "neural network" and their creators don't know exactly how they make the decisions they make in solving problems. Just food for thought.

That your refer to AI as a "who" rather than a "what" tells me what I need to know. Do you believe that AI writes code with absolutely no impetus from any human aside from electricity? I do not. I believe that a puppetmaster is manipulating the strings. What gives this AI its purpose?

I should clarify that I don't have any first hand knowledge of AI other than what I have read. I was just sharing what I have read and not actually stating fact or really even opinion for that matter.
