You just showed that you don’t understand geography. Manhattan is the entire island and even includes Roosevelt Island and a small section in the Bronx. Harlem is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan. I should know, as I live there.

It’s vastly different up there, particularly as far as safety goes. (Though below 90th has gotten much worse since DeBlasio). Washington Heights is essentially an odd suburb of Manhattan (though safe) and they both take 45 minutes or longer to get there from east/west village.
It’s an entirely different world.
