Mine is super cute and usually friendly but he has a bad attitude toward very random and specific dogs. It makes it very hard to know which ones to let him play with if he doesn’t already know them.

Very similar sentiments. I have an elderly bitch here. If you'll allow me to elaborate. She was a rescue dog. She was trained for fighting. She's a massive handful but has chilled out, massively, since I got her. As a dog trained for fighting, nobody would have her, que, me🤷🏻‍♂️. She's absolutely great with people, but not with other dogs. Dog walks can be quite a challenge. I love her to bits.
