Magneto.
nice. complicated guy. xavier's friend and the only vilain he can reason with, anti hero yet protects mutants at all cost.
I tend to relate to Magneto, and I don’t actually see him as a villain. I think Charles is good natured and principled, but naive. Magneto is principled as well, not abusing but using his power to strike back against a majority that chooses to do unreasonable things. From the Nazi concentration camps to the cure packs, Magneto was always willing to leave things alone until forced to take action. He has sentinel intelligence and a ruthless willingness to maintain the balance of power.
Comic books are for children. Black and white. Cartoonishly good and evil.
Pattern recognition and intelligence OTOH is coldly objective regardless of the feel good labels we try to soothe ourselves with.
They have to portray heroes and villains ridiculously otherwise the sheep freak out.

I probably didn't see him as an ultimate bad boy with a good heart. Rogue married him though and had a son. I guess the diff with Charles and Erik was that Charles wanted humans and mutants to be equal, whereas Erik was always on the side of the mutants, be it mutants being superior to humans, or when mutants are attacked, off to their rescue. Charles did ask Magneto to run X men at some point, i think when Jean killed him ? Charles and Magneto have this love hate friendship all throughout.

oh wow. sorry for his loss. Stan Lee was close to a hundred when he passed ? I remember his wife died a year before that, they were married for over 60 yrs. Must be quite something to live through WW2, The Great Depression, Beatnik era, Vietnam, JFK, Nixon, Internet, Social Media and create some of the greatest comics of all time. My 11 yr old nephews are a huge fan of stan lee, the conversations can go on for hours.
