This is another thing I want to try for long time.
Paperless-ngx is a community supported opensource document management system that transforms your physical documents into a searchable online archive so you can keep, well, less paper. It is a free and opensource app

I can give you access to my instance. It’s working quite well.
How do you use it practically? Do you scan everything? What is the workflow? Did you integrate it into your family?
Not much, to be honest. I have so few paper documents that it’s actually not worth any hassle. But for those things I tried it worked remarkably well.
Yeah, that is the core of my problem. It is always pretty hard to create a process I will be happy to follow. It is much easier to put the paper down and loose it than scan it.
I have two easy way to get document there:
1. Scan it on the MFP with one button send via email.
2. Use mobile app to scan.
Both work very well. It’s just - I have about ten documents a year and only one or two are actually worth keeping. They are just in the drawer 🤷♀️
I have one use case, though. Receipts from shops for guarantee. That would work great, but I guess I’m too disorganised for that.
