There are 2 spam blocking features in Amethyst.

1. It looks at your follows, and who they block & report. If the number is greater than 5, you get a "click to show" with a list of the users who have them blocked.

2. It looks at people sending the *exact* same message multiple times in a row. If a user is just spamming the same message, they are muted.

So who banned nostr:nprofile1qqsds3ghsq4yx36hc44wseptl76dymj6mcr3ypfh2qs4dq8439h90xcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qythwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnzd968qatwdvhxvmf0qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj78zxkhy and how did that carry over to me?

I don't like it, I've never banned or muted anyone (only one or two CSAM bots like two years ago) as I consciously make an effort to rather ignore than block or mute.

So that was almost zero for both.

But I went to check something and I saw so many blocked accounts that I know I never ever did.

That's shadow banning imo

And you wouldn't even know given if you don't check.

I don't like it.

I'm not sure why he was blocked. But that's why there is an option to disable it. There was a fork called onyx that I linked to in another comment, that didn't have these spam blocking features enabled. Once Vitor added the options, that fork was stopped, because it was no longer necessary.

Right. Maybe I'm just lazy, but to have to go and actively change this feels wrong. Should be the other way, no?

You put on the filters you want, you mute and block who you want etc.
