To each his own. The people voicing Apple concerns are actually on nostr and many are actively contributing so it’s an apples to oranges comparison imo.

To each their own indeed. I'm not out to tell people how to spend their money.
But if Apple cracks down more on Bitcoin apps, which they will because it's in their interests to do so, and bitcoiners keep buying Apple products anyway, all that does is send the message Apple can keep fucking over their customers with impunity.
Only thing they care about is the bottom line. Gotta vote with your wallet.
I generally agree that voting with your wallet is best. However, by exiting the apple app ecosystem we’d just be harming ourselves in the process.
The only reason I was able to design anything I have so far is because I use apple products. I have to pick which battles to fight and which tools to use. Right now, the tools are doing more good than they would if I ditched them.
We are too few to make any meaningful dent in apple’s revenue numbers. Voting with your wallet is only effective when it actually matters.
This is a truth a doubt many want to hear.
Some people are willing to die in a sure-loss battle for the symbolic sacrifice. I’m not one of those people. I don’t fight unless I know I’m going to win.
Same. Bug on a windshield isn’t how I wanna go. I fight when I know they’ll feel me. I sneak around them the rest of the time. Either way, I get what I want.
💯
I'm not quiet quitting here watch this space... Plebphone shop opening in a week now, that's GrapheneOS phones you can buy for sats.
Next up is PlebOS...
100% by plebs for plebs and 100% fuck Apple.
I'm widening access to the better solutions.
And if you care for digital sovereignty, a phone running GrapheneOS is objectively superior to an iPhone that Apple is gonna keep crippling.
One thing I think a lot of people are missing. You know those Apple credit cards? Yeah those are provided by Goldman Sachs. How many billions do you think Apple is making in commission by pushing consumer credit products for Goldman? Do you think they won't just remove every lightning wallet from the App Store to keep their friends at Goldman Sachs happy?
Apple is anti-Bitcoin, anti-freedom, pro-fiat-clown-money-printing as Goldman's bitch.
I'd even understand if there were things iPhones could do that Android couldn't but it's actually the other way around. iPhones feel like toys in comparison. Android phones can do everything a Linux computer can.
I can run a relay off my phone if I wanted. I can run a Tor service and host LNBits from my phone.
iPhones don't even let you zap notes, probably because Goldman Sachs told Tim Cook they didn't like it. Not to mention Apple's true master, the CCP.
Speaking as someone who escaped the Apple jail I don't feel as if I've lost anything at all.
I've now got a phone I can install GrapheneOS on, which I have, so it's secure and private and I control what runs on it.
I have a laptop I can actually upgrade and repair myself without paying some condescending store clerk calling themselves a "genius" $900.
It's even modular. I can switch out the ports or replace one with extra storage and soon cool third party stuff like a dedicated DAC.
I can run whatever OS I like on it. Ubuntu works very reliably. If you prefer Windows or dual boot you can do that too.
I finally cancelled Apple Music in favour of Qobuz. No regrets at all. In fact I owe someone 420 sats for recommending it to me.
What is it I'm meant to be missing here? Overpriced hardware I don't actually own but many people consider a status symbol because it has a fruit logo on it?
I like to stay humble but I'll just say if I wanted to flex, my wristwatch is a much bigger flex than any piece of disposable consumer technology.
I cheaped out and got a small USB-C DAC, hopefully the music sounds better on a dedicated sound system.
