One of the things I like about Nostr is it's ability to get you to think with your own mind.

For example, if I make a post here, I'm never thinking: "will the algorithm like what I'm about to post" or "does it meet the right criteria to be pushed further into the feeds of others"

I'm thinking as an individual. There's real and productive power in that.

Nostr's lack of Twitter-like algorithms seems to have the power to push social media based communities towards altruism. Or just plain being able to post how we really are in real life, not some polished up, unattainable version of ourselves created for the internet.

Something like that.

It's still early and Nostr can do no wrong, especially after listening to an interview about the depths Facebook and co go to manipulate us.

one thing I noticed is that on twitter you had to get likes and retweets instantly in order to maximize your reach, while here getting a retweet weeks later is equally valuable
