This changed my outlook on this whole situation. I have been digging #onlyzaps but this made me realize what it could truly mean.

The whole idea of maximizing “+1” is what I believe is killing authentic social interaction. How can you be your true self if you are only seeking validation for a +1. Instead seeking community, interactions and finding like minded people is what a true social interaction should/would be. By #onlyzaps you are saying this is true value to myself and seeking to create a circle for yourself that is interesting instead of seaking to validate anything you see with a force mindset of must +1 etc.

Very interesting, sorry for the long post it truly made me think and want to change how my mind thinks about what does “social media” mean to me?

I’ve been reading about proof of work’s origin as a security cost function to prevent spam. Make spammers pay, reduce spam, increase ratio of authentic messages. Makes sense academically and practically in that setting.

I wasn’t expecting to feel anything different when I got my first #Zap for a note than how I feel for a like. And yet, it was a brand new emotion when I realized that person signaled their feelings with a small tip. They brought my virtual note to life.

I hope everyone on social can feel the difference. Like receiving a hand written note without the postage cost.

Dropping likes isn’t about reducing love, it’s about increasing the ratio of authenticity in your day to day.

We shall see how this experiment goes on #nostr and #Bitcoin.

If it works I suspect we will see #Twitter and #Dogecoin

Very good points. It’s an interesting place! And true those first zaps change everything! It’s a totally different experience.

Cannot Zap U.

I cannot zap you 🙁 odd. Everything correct on your end?

Working now! Not sure
