There's an entire world in that yellow patch.

I drop all kinds of mushroom caps on that mulch. Done so for 5 years.

Excellent.

Slime mold i believe. Aka dog vomit fungus

It’s super beneficial in breaking down the soil.

I notice it more myself on rot resistant species like cedar. But that may just be me.

This is all essentially pine trash. I have big piles of it under huge trees.

It seems you’ve entered a new world of fascination for the fungi 🤓
