I‘m often not sure if someone did not receive the nostr note or did not view it or ignored it.
The email protocol makes better promises in that regard.

when are we creating a nip that adds a tag to notes that requests a read receipt from referenced pubkeys and then viewers with clients acknowledging it sending said read receipt back to the original author
I think it is same but email is here for longer time so we "trust" more
