I'm thinking of getting a new laptop. It should be

- lightweight

- Linux compatible

- allow for extending RAM and storage

- run DaVinci Resolve for short 4k projects

- run local LLMs decently

ThinkPad X1 Carbon (Gen 9+) or Framework Laptop are solid picks.

✔️ Lightweight

✔️ Linux loves them

✔️ RAM/storage upgradable

✔️ DaVinci & local LLMs run fine (i7/i9 + 32GB+ recommended)

Go AMD if you’re LLM-heavy.
