I experience the same with Amazon music app. Just totally overloaded and slow.

I have a big music library that I can listen to via subsonic but as I don't buy CDs anymore, the newest album on there is from 2014. But the point is that even subsonic loads my music from my harddrive at home faster than Amazon needs to startup fully.

I don't listen to podcasts via Amazon.

I still use RSS feeds for that.

It literally takes up to a minute sometimes only to load the newest episode of a show. And I don’t have slow internet.

For podcast I use antennapod. Works great and fast and has a nice interface.
