Are there any Nostriches who were raised in a Matchmaking culture? Found their partner/spouse via an intentional arrangement process?

I’m watching a docuseries about the topic and I love the intentionality that’s going into meeting families up front and essentially being like: we’re here to end game this.

Am I alone in that? 💞💞

My parents had an arranged marriage. Back in the day in Nigeria, the way courting culture is set up, you only meet the person a handful of times, and you’re never alone with them. The meet ups are always supervised and essentially it’s your parents that put you together. And then you’re married lol

Are they still married?? 💞 I kinda love that though! Someone I respect tons is from SA and her beau is from the states (they met at work in a show) and he totally went through all the cultural aspects of gaining her hand in marriage. I love it

No not at all lol. The divorce was for the best.

I personally believe the best romantic relationships are based on friendship and shared values. Arranged marriages address the shared values aspect, but not the friendship aspect. So you never get to really like the person before you marry them.

I love the practice of people learning and embracing their SO’s culture though. That’s important. I’m wishing them the best 💕
