for tips I think it makes sense to have a single trusted server providing the data, because it would be the same server receiving the tips.

for likes and followers technically anyone could assemble that data from public events, so there can be multiple providers and approaches. I have suggested this in the past and it is not a perfect idea by any means, but relays could just return an extra field in the events with total count of likes. the problem is how to aggregate counts from different relays.
