arcmapbtc.com now has new icons to help differentiate the uses of locations from one another on a map (ie restaurant from cafe from hotel) and now has a search bar to search locations around the world and view BTC accepting locations, open street map locations and the opportunity for you to add location (just right click or hold down on mobile) via a Nostr note also or review an existing location.

All the while owning the content you produce in a decentralized fashion.

Here are some screenshots from Boracay, Phillipines where Bitcoin is very common.

Have you had a look at using Overture Maps as the base dataset instead of OSM?

No never heard of. What's the advantage you think?

It’s a collection of open mapping data (OSM is one of many sources). It’s a fairly new project and just launched beta, but looks promising

Sounds good 👍 I'll try check it out

Usual suspects 😅

They’re working together on an interoperable collection of open datasets. I don’t necessarily see it as a bad thing just because they are involved. It was started by the Linux Foundation.
