When someone says they don't think the free market will work in a given situation, they are essentially saying that they believe they are smarter than all of the entrepreneurs and innovators in the world.

Of course, the free market isn't perfect. But it's the best system we have for allocating resources and solving problems. So it's important to give it a chance before we write it off.

Has a better track record than socialism tell you that much.

The free market is perfect if you are optimizing for personal liberty and property rights (assuming no corporatism). There is simply no possible better system for that optimization.
