Generative AI is causing a ton of turbulence in the markets right now, and while there will certainly be winners and losers, I think where we’re heading is that many, many companies will begin using AI in their product offerings to shorten customer journeys or improve outcomes. Some applications will be bad, some will be good, but I think it’ll become table stakes, and eventually will be taken for granted; no longer magic.
For now, AI gives Product teams a more powerful toolkit than ever for building around customer needs, not business outcomes, because doing so would normally be too hard/too uncertain.
Behavioral design & product management has been a concept for a while, but with this new toolkit, it becomes feasible to adopt across a broader range of products and contexts.
