isnt Proton Pass proprietary software?

I use KeePassXC which is open source and Libre Software. You can sync the encrpyted file accross all devices. Its also free.

For something as important as passwords, I wouldn't use anything else.

Nope. It’s open source, with a sync service run by Proton. Keepass looks like it was last updated in the late 90s. I also need multi-device support like most.

KeepassXC is crossplatform, the Android version is called DroidPass on F-Droid.

Wondering why ProtonPass is not on F-droid if its opensource?

I dont really care for looks, and prefer security and to keep my passwords off the cloud.

Or KeepassDX, which is more often updated FOSS

Email + VPN + password + cloud drive....

Cyber security common sense dictates not to keep all your tools inside one single point of failure. If Proton goes down or simply closes businesses or worst, gets hacked ...

Best to have a backup for each, and I agree with cryptowolf, having your passwords online is nothing but a big no-no in CyberSecurity terms , even if you are self hosting
