what a day

had a team of contractors over doing work on the house. one of our two cats emerged after an hour or so after being freaked out. the other car didn't. the door was propped open all day. spent several hours being pretty sure that our cat got out of the house, and we couldn't find him.

It was pretty distressing, honestly, but he eventually emerged from the basement. We have no idea where he was but now we're just relieved that he's ok.
