Honest relay operators should at least provide a disclaimer as to how they will treat their users' data or whether they will use it for anything... there may be operators who collect sets of metrics associated with public keys and these are used for profiling and selling information.

What do you think?

Totally agree, it is a very big responsibility for the operators of a relay. As users we must choose very well to which relays we send data. I think it is a field to explore and find some improvements in privacy

I have put a little disclaimer in my relay https://relay.punkhub.me

Hope more relay operators take the initiative

I will show the same message in nostrcheck.me relay. Thanks for your work #[2] 💪💪⚡️⚡️

event data is public and so cant be controlled

I'm talking about a relay operator having access to your ip and could associate the pubkey of the events with an ip. And at some point, who knows whether to sell that data or use it as a marketing strategy?
