Faking nukes has had a number of benefits to the existing order

1) the oil cartel gets to keep selling oil, because now nuclear energy is extremely dangerous. Add psyops (three mile island, Fukushima, Chernobyl) to reinforce this

2) countries that have nuclear weapons get to bully ones that don’t. “Developing nuclear weapons” is a perfect reason to invade any country we want

3) since nuclear is dangerous, nuclear waste must be too. So the government pays to dispose of this waste with contractors. Except it’s not waste, because “spent uranium rods” still contain 90% of their usable energy. Wait for some amazing breakthrough that uses “recycled nuclear energy” and those entities we paid to store the energy turn around and sell it back to us

It’s basically the same move as the DeBeers diamond cartel except by the energy industry - monopolize the new energy tech (in the name of national security), prolong the century of your previous monopoly (oil), run all foreign policy on the lie, rule the world
