glad to say i don't have a PM on my team

actually, come to think of it, the previous team i was on, abandoned their little nerdy ukrainian girl PM 6 months before i finished working for them.

they actually don't do anything. an issues board is enough, as is weekly meetings. also, the boss saying what he wants, that also is important.

programmers who have been in the business more than a couple of years have internalised project management skills.

in fact, programmers precise type of work is precisely defining broad specifications and refining them down to the level of code. the idea that you need someone to bother them all the time just shows how little most software development companies actually understand what a programmer is.
