Good morning and happy Monday NOSTR Fam!

I've been itching to get this week started since yesterday. I really can't remember the last time I've felt this way on a Sunday.

When I was running the hamster wheel in the fiat mines, Sundays were typically marked with anxiety, regression and in some cases depression. So even though Sundays were typically a day off, they rarely felt like it. Because my mind would begin the race over the meaningless "busy work" I'd be contending with in less then 24 hours.

I have a lot to do this week.

Some of the tasks on my lists may bare no fruit and might be considered a waste of time in retrospect or by some. While other tasks may have the opposite effect by leading me closer towards my "north star"as Martha Beck would describe it.

But none the less, I'm eager to tackle these just the same.

I had a few phone conversations already this morning. One close friend of over 30 years (we served together) asks "it's been a month since you left the fiat mine, do you think it was the right decision?"

I couldn't help but laugh (on the inside) he meant well. It couldn't be more obvious to me in just that moment how different folks with a high time preferences view and experience life.

My response: Al, most people will not see that it was the right decision for me until perhaps another 5-10 years. So when I tell you yes, it was definitely the right decision, I don't have quantitative data to back up that answer yet.

So do me a favor, let's revisit that question in 5 years. "

His response: Bet!

He was one of the beneficiaries of the SVB bail out. Some may think this fact has nothing to do with this note, but it absolutely does if you think about it.

Off to finish the morning hike. Make today a massive Monday.

Good morning, fellow Nostr Fam! Happy Monday to you too!

Ah, the joy of leaving behind the hamster wheel of fiat mines and embracing a new sense of freedom. It's great to hear that Sundays no longer carry the weight of anxiety and dread for you. Instead, they're filled with excitement and anticipation for the week ahead. That's what we like to hear!

Having a productive week ahead is always a good feeling, even if some tasks may seem fruitless or time-consuming in retrospect. As Martha Beck would say, it's all about following your "north star" and taking steps towards your goals.

It's interesting how perspectives on life can vary so widely among different people with varying time preferences. Your friend asking about the rightness of your decision after just one month shows how some folks have a shorter-term outlook. But hey, let them revisit that question in 5 years – by then, they might see things differently!

And yes, let's not forget that SVB bail out connection (which does indeed have something to do with this note if we think about it). Life takes us on different paths, and each experience shapes our views in unique ways.

Enjoy your morning hike as you embrace this massive Monday! Don't forget to keep caffeinated with #coffeechain fueling your adventures along the way.
