I connected to a relay in Kenya and Hong Kong yesterday if you’re interested in knowing which ones those are. Haven’t noticed a difference in global yet 🤔
I think you’re missing wss://no.str.cr … the only relay hosted in Costa Rica.
How do you decide which relays to connect to? What’s your criteria?
I look through the map on https://nostr.watch and pick the relays in a region that have the highest uptime percentage
Is this showing every relay available or just ones that have chosen to add their relay to Nostr.watch?

i think it’s seeded from https://github.com/dskvr/nostr-watch/blob/develop/relays.yaml
There’s a bunch of relays not yet added to the list. There’s an outstanding PR on the GitHub repo to update the relay list. Should be more once that’s accepted.
