So… will #lightning nodes be the banks of the hyper-Bitcoinized future? Custodial lightning providers are tasked with managing liquidity so that people can go about their every day life without having to move their #Bitcoin or manage their own node. This mirrors the previous dilemma of the past when people stored their gold in vaults and traded receipts/notes with each other. Of course, Bitcoin is better than the old system for many reasons, but my point is to discuss the system that may form where lightning providers are analogous to banks/gold vaults of the past.
