I think the problem is algos is the question of who decides what the algo favours. It's quite difficult to do that in a neutral way that both makes everyone happy and does what an algo is usually meant to do.
Discussion
My point though is:
1. it could be open source, so it’s not a black box, you’d know which choices were being made
2. We could have optionality between algos (many apps now have at least two algos to choose from
3. We could have an option to import different (community created ?) algos.
4. You could even have a UI to tweak an algos preferences
Instead, we’re like “chronological is the real deal” which is naïve, and doesn’t push anything forward
Wow great point. I love the innovation and competition aspects of that. As you say, if you bring your own algo, that sounds great.
