I was listening to you talk about focus on your recent ABP podcast. Very interesting. It makes me wish Ocean didn't mix up DATUM and Knots
Knots works fine without DATUM and DATUM is super, super useful, but doesn't require Knots.

Yes, DATUM and Knots are two very different convoās I think, so try to keep them mutually exclusive from one another.
Knots is like Apple (clean no noise)
Core is like Android (noisy and junk)
The chain ends up looking like whatever nodes believe is best for bitcoin.
I believe that DATUM is the most important tool in mining in years.
Solo mining is ok as a hobby. But if you need to pay your electricity bills, if you need predictable revenue, you need to pool mine. And only DATUM let's you choose your node.
I mine with Ocean, and have found the experience really nice!
Datum is how I go, because it has some level of integrity, not just being a money whore.
Earn sats, while increasing the networks security, while preserving the networks direction.
I only started trying to mine this year amongst the core/knots convo, as I realised I hadnāt really done mining and lack of experience means I canāt stand on my words reallyā¦.
Overall itās been fantastic as a learning tool!

The short term pleasure, long term pain crew (mining pools mining anything today, for revenue today) may win battles, but in any thermodynamic system, that behaviour trends to 0. Not as an opinion, but as a physics behaviour.

It feels sort of like Iām a farmer, and Iām āproducingā organic vegetables, but organic grass fed, paddock to plate, farm to table satoshis!
