Cashu is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
I disagree, I love cashu. It's not an L2 though, it's an L3. The fact that Calle likes to call it an L2 should have told me everything I need to know about him. He's not fully honest with himself and he believes in development by fiat.
Like the L2 L3 thing seems innocuous but it helps to show he's really got a but of a credentialist, fiat, "whatever the person in power thinks is right and people should fall in line" mentality.
Itβs not dependent on bitcoin. You donβt need to run a node. All you need is a funding source while itβs common for mint operators to assign a lightning address it could be any shitcoin or any fiat currency there is no bitcoin requirement of any kind.

Good point. It's just banking. Free banking works in certain contexts, but you really have to verify/have a lot of serious consequences for custodians of your bitcoin. It's best used amongst friends and family.
