Any tips for learning guitar? Iām an absolute rookie.
I found a nice starter guitar (acoustic) the other day for a steal of a price, Iāve always wanted to try so I couldnāt say no.
Iāve been just strumming and practicing chords, hand posture, finger placement, etc.
Should I just hop into learning a song?

The stuff that paid the most dividends early was all the ānon funā finger exercises. the finger strength and dexterity unlocks all the other stuff
i wanted to just jam around and have fun, but i made myself go half and half. seemed to keep it fun enough to keep going but also made actual technical improvements
This might be what I have to do, Iām bad because I get bored of things easily. I figure if I can do some song learning as well as finger exercises itāll probably keep me entertained enough.
Finger dexterity is a bit of an issue because I have sausage fingers but weāre workinā on it š
