In Mastodon (I use it as well) user's identity is tied to a specific server (instance), Nostr uses instead a public key system that allows users to maintain their identity and activity history across different clients and relays, making them independent of any single server operator. In summary, you are way more censor resistant, relay owners may mute you, ban you but with so many relays it will be useless and you never loose your identity.

2. Micro Bitcoin payments with cashu and lightning built in, I see you already configured your npub . cash wallet, well done. I encourage you to get a vanity address too, helping the developer who charges a small fee.

I suggest you find a tribe with hastags, # Nascar (no space), etc, use #askNostr for the community to assist you, many Follow that hashtag. Follow the hashtag of your preference as if it was an user.

Welcome others that are new, many use and follow # introduction, although be cautious, I used to Welcome every new comer and end up added into muted lists which makes the algorithm to male my profile and posts less visible, not that I care since I value more the new user but no good deed goes unpunished.
