what’s the best no-kyc payment method to use in australia?

my payid has my government name in it 😑 and bank transfer takes days to clear so i’m guessing it won’t be viable p2p - what options do i have here?

On Bisq, usually you'll have several days to settle a trade, precisely because bank transfers may not be instant. Doesn't mean that the seller will accept such a payment method. Plus, that's the opposite of non-KYC.

My favorite method is Amazon gift cards. But again, you have no guarantee that you'll find an offer accepting them.

That said, because nowadays you can use your AUS Amazon account to buy on ANY Amazon shop, you can buy gift cards valid in any country and currency... Which opens up your options greatly.

In my experience, EUR offers are many times more numerous than any other currency, including USD.

thanks for all that info! i was thinking amazon gift cards might be a good option - i swear i even saw woolworths gift cards (which is a grocery store here in australia) as a payment method somewhere 🤔

would you get worse spreads using these as an option? or is it decent spreads if you’re grabbing us dollar or euros based gift cards?

might give it a go on robosats 🤔

No, the spread is totally independent f the method, as far as I can make out.

Sometimes you have better rates with gift cards, sometimes you don't. It depends on each seller.

I'm my experience, the premium is much more strongly correlated with the general sentiment about whether BTC is going up or down in the short term.

E.g.: this week I have seen some crazy double digit premiums, while one week ago I was able to get BTC for as little a premium as 1.7% (and some offers with payment methods I don't want to use like bank transfer even had a 0% premium)
