The Crystal Cave in Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico, is famous for housing giant selenite crystals, some of the largest in the world, reaching up to 12 meters long and 55 tons in weight.

However, due to the extreme conditions inside the cave, with temperatures reaching 58°C and humidity of up to 99%, its exploration has been limited.

Currently, the cave remains closed for safety reasons, mainly because the Naica mine, on which its access depends, has stopped operations and, without constant pumping of water, the cave is at risk of flooding.

Furthermore, the harsh conditions mean that any visit requires special equipment, which prevents its opening to the general public.
