I've only been posting on #Nostr for just over a week and it's already feeling like home.

The feed on #Nostr is filled with quite a lot of positive content, which is the opposite of my feeds on other social media. It's refreshing to have a social media platform where there isn't some opaque, centrally-controlled algorithm that feeds you highly controversial and emotional content to keep you addicted.

Going to brainstorm ways that I can meaningfully contribute to the community here.

Cheers.

A lot of people blame the algorithms for highly controversial/emotional content. I have a different theory. I think communities evolve based on selection, much like species evolve based on natural seelction. Essentially, people who don't fit leave, and that means the people remaining contain a higher concentration of people who do fit.

A consequence of this theory is that X (twitter) probably can't grow much at this point, and that nostr may be doomed to be largely made up of very friendly bitcoiners with positive can-do attitudes and entrepreneural spirit.

I could be wrong, but I'm ok with this if it is true.
