Centralized services such email and etc... are high priority services to avoid at all costs in my mind. Self-hosted and decentralized services are the best options for individuals.

It’s a spectrum based on risk/privacy profile. A less tech-savvy user who doesn’t know how to run a self-hosted tool would benefit from using a cloud tool that is privacy focused vs Google.
