It’s very noticeable this year. Paydays are mathematical nightmares now, trying to figure out what to pay and what to let slide. Fridge is empty 4 days before payday. And that’s with two people making a combined $150k or so. But try getting your employer to understand or care that you are effectively working for 30% less than you were when you started with the company 4-5 years ago. No inflation indexed raises, just an insult 2.9% every second or third year while they continue to make huge capital purchases and play the “poor card” at raise/bonus time. I’m not incentivized to push too hard to build someone else’s empire right now. Going above and beyond for years for a series of rich fucks hasn’t gained me a damn thing.
Canada is headed for its worst decline in 40 years as economy fails to recover from the pandemic.
Under Trudeau, incomes are West Virginia level, house prices are Los Angeles level, and a middle class family might pay *half* their income in taxes.
7 in 10 Canadians now think that “Canada is broken” — rising to 8 in 10 of the young.
Almost half of Canadians are considering moving to another country.
Rarely has a country fallen so far so fast.
