Done right the green idea will be good for bitcoin. At some point the direct conversion of energy to money becomes a financial incentive for energy efficiency. The lower cost of energy production the higher the financial reward seems to me a good enough reason to start building a hydroelectric system. It does not sound like a reason to start killing poor people.
